Company Bio
Motion/TRIBE is a company of seasoned professionals with a spectrum of skills and talents who collaborate with Artistic Director Marie de la Palme to bring her concepts and choreographic vision to life.
The company’s award-winning repertoire is about the life of the soul. The vocabulary is specific to the concept of each piece and includes contemporary ballet, aerial work, ballroom, tap, yoga and modern dance.
A five-time award-winner at the Dance Under the Stars Choreography Festival and the recipient of a Lester Horton Dance Award, the company is consistently recognized for artistic excellence through numerous other awards and nominations.
Upon returning from a successful company tour of France (summer 2011) - where Motion/Tribe performed to rousing audience acclaim - the company opened the 10th annual Los Angeles Dance Invitational at the Ford Amphitheatre (August 2011) and perform at the So-Cal Dance Invitation in September/October 2011.
Motion/TRIBE’s repertoire has been presented internationally as well as locally at Dizzy Feet Foundation’s Gala (2009 – Kodak Theatre), American Choreographers Awards, CELEBRATE DANCE (2008-2010), Dance Kaleidoscope, Los Angeles Dance Invitational, and KCET’s Annual Holiday Celebration at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion (2008 and 2009).
